East West Manufacturing is looking for our first-ever Director of People and Culture to join our team. This person, who will report directly to our CEO will focus on connecting the work our team members do to the East West mission and values. This person must take measures to create a welcoming, energizing and rewarding work environment. It is imperative this person can respect and empathize with team members who 1) work in a range of workplace settings and 2) are culturally, economically and geographically diverse.

Who Are We Looking For?

  • A Talent Architect: excitement for developing growth plans for internal team members and the ability to attract and hire top talent.
  • Business Acumen: strong understanding of how to marry business strategy and processes with people strategy; a strategic adviser and a solutions-oriented leader with influencing capabilities.
  • Emotional Intellect: high levels of emotional intelligence including empathy and strong interpersonal skills. Must be compassionate, self-aware and able to skillfully manage their emotions as well as those of others.
  • A Flexible Visionary: a demonstrated track record of challenging antiquated HR standards with innovative solutions that are more beneficial for team members and overall company operations.
  • Authentic Advocacy: the ability to help manage frequent and complex business changes while remaining open and transparent with all team members, fostering trust and acting as an advocate for our employees. The Director of People and Culture must have the right temperament to build credibility with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial Minded: someone who thinks like an owner, has a superb reputation as a strategic-doer, and demonstrates agility and collaboration throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Work in partnership with the East West's executive leadership team to provide an operational structure for existing organizational needs
  • Talent acquisition across the organization and creating a talent development program to establish career paths and training opportunities
  • Creating greater company infrastructure across all departments, developing a road map to support future growth and increase retention of key players
  • Oversee new hire onboarding while reinforcing the culture and shared values across the candidate and employee lifecycles
  • Driving cultural initiatives to ensure East West is an enjoyable place to work
  • Collaborate with outside payroll companies to manage compensation across all business units
  • Oversight of the performance review process as well as performance improvement plans
  • Collaborating with 3rd parties to ensure consistent compliance in all East West facilities
  • Working with benefits broker to maintain competitive benefits offerings

What we require from you:

  • 5 years human resources experience at the senior management level
  • Prior experience working in a consultative capacity with executive leadership
  • Prior experience with mergers and acquisitions, strongly desired
  • Proven track record of successful implementation of change management initiatives
  • Prior experience in a global organization is a plus
  • Experience and strong working knowledge of labor laws and compliance
  • Ability to make at least one international trip per year
  • PHR, SPHR or similar certification, preferred
  • Bachelor's degree, mandatory
